Hasnat Abdullah claims that the leader of the anti-discrimination movement has been missing for two days

KM Mamunur Rashid, former joint convener of Uttara’s anti-discrimination student movement, has been missing for more than 48 hours. Hasnat Abdullah, the chief organizer of the southern region of the NCP (National Citizen Party), made this claim on social media Facebook this Thursday morning.

In a Facebook post, he wrote, ‘For the past 48 hours, KM Mamunur Rashid, former joint convener of Uttara’s anti-discrimination student movement, has been missing from the capital’s Uttara area. The matter is also creating an extremely worrying and frightening situation. This is probably the first such incident in the context of the post-August 5 period.’

He also wrote, ‘As a citizen, where the state has failed to ensure minimum security, the extreme negligence of the government and law enforcement agencies in conducting a speedy and fair investigation of the incident is clearly visible.’

Hasnat said, ‘At the same time, I am deeply concerned about the silent role of the media in such a critical situation. This silence is creating fears of bringing back the old culture of fear and an atmosphere of oppression in politics.
